To Start the ProcessCustom Furniture, at the outset, is an exchange of ideas. My best pieces have been the result of my customer's active participation in the design process. You can let me know of your ideas by any of the following methods:
No matter what form of communication you prefer, please let me know a convenient time to reach you. ConsultationWhether you order from among the pieces shown in the Gallery or you would like to commission your own unique design, I will minimally need to know the dimensions you would like, your choice of wood, and we will discuss an appropriate finish for the piece. For custom pieces, the conversation may be a bit more extensive, depending on your interests. Unless you have ordered from my Gallery or I will be working from an exact image, I will provide you with a shop sketch of the piece and a written proposal. ProposalThe proposal will include a description and the dimensions of the piece, an anticipated completion date and the price. Upon receipt of a deposit equal to one-third of the price, your piece will be placed on the shop schedule. Lead TimeMy lead time is currently three to six months. Forms of PaymentDeposits as well as final payments can be made by check or money-order, mailed to the address on our contact page. Delivery & ShippingFree delivery is provided if you live within 60 miles of Woodstock, Illinois, a distance that would include Chicago, Milwaukee and everything in between. If you are beyond that range, blanket-wrapped shipping can be easily arranged and an estimate of this cost can be included in your proposal. ReferencesReferences will be happily provided. GuaranteeEach piece that leaves One At A Time's shop is guaranteed against defects in materials or workmanship for life.
